Young Retailer of the Year Reception and Ceremony

Presented by NRHA/Hardware Retailing magazine

Each year, NRHA highlights young, aspiring hardware retailers and honors them for outstanding achievement as owners and managers of independently owned hardware and building supply stores through the Young Retailer of the Year program. The program, now in its 21st year, recognizes outstanding performance and encourages talented young people to pursue a career in the retail hardware business. To date, the program has honored over 100 young retailers.

By 2020, half of all homes will have migrated to LEDs, and revenues for connected home products are expected to grow by 50% by that same year. Lighting is a prime location as a smart connection point because it’s all around us, and it puts connected technology into an affordable, compact package that can be used anywhere in the home. Listen as GE Lighting experts share more on how lighting is opening a channel to simple, smart home adoption and interoperability with a new generation of efficient lighting that listens, learns and sees.

The Fuller Center for Housing's Inaugural Raise the Roof Run 5K/1M Event

The Fuller Center for Housing’s Inaugural Raise the Roof Run will take place at beautiful Sunset Park in Las Vegas on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. ​The 5K run / 1 Mile walk event is hosted by the National Hardware Show and the North American Retail Hardware Association, with proceeds benefitting The Fuller Center for Housing. Raise the Roof Run will offer attendees of the National Hardware Show a unique opportunity to engage with and support the mission of The Fuller Center, while connecting with colleagues in the independent retail hardware industry in a fun and informal setting. In our first year, we expect to register over 100 runner /walkers, build an excellent team of contributing sponsors, and increase awareness of The Fuller Center’s mission within the industry. The Fuller Center looks to establish Raise the Roof Run as a staple of the National Hardware Show for many years to come.

The Fuller Center’s simple, grass-roots approach is a particularly good fit for independent hardware retailers in the United States as it emphasizes partnerships and decision-making at the local level.
